Ms. Carol Weaver
(B.A., M.A.)
With more than three decades in education, Ms. Carol Weaver teaches English and mentors future and current educators in her hometown of Rock Hill, South Carolina—sharing her passion for learning and her commitment to the next generation of teachers. A proud graduate of Winthrop University, Ms. Weaver has taught every level of English, including English I–IV, public speaking, and creative writing. Her broad teaching background has allowed her to connect with students at every stage of their academic journey.
Ms. Weaver became actively involved in teacher recruitment efforts in 2008 when she was invited to lead a program for future educators at Rock Hill High School—her alma mater. In that same year, she became a certified South Carolina mentor, followed by certification as a mentor trainer in 2014. In 2019, she began serving as a trainer for CERRA (Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement), supporting future teachers and those who guide them. She has also mentored college interns, supported beginning teachers at Rock Hill High School, and served as a partner teacher for several international educators through the U.S. State Department’s Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program.
Many of Ms. Weaver’s former students have gone on to become educators themselves—teaching not only alongside her at Rock Hill High School, but also throughout her district, across South Carolina, in other states, and even abroad.
Ms. Weaver was named Rock Hill High School Teacher of the Year in 2012–2013 and was honored as a finalist for the Jessie Williams Little Leading the Way Award in 2018—recognition that reflects her steady commitment to students, colleagues, and the teaching profession.
At every stage of her career, Ms. Weaver has remained committed to helping others find their place in education. She believes in the power of teaching to make a difference—and feels fortunate to be part of that work each day.
In her spare time, Ms. Weaver enjoys reading, baking sweet treats, staying active, attending concerts, and exploring new places.
