Ms. Anne Ledford
(B.A., M.A.T.)
Anne Ledford is a highly respected educator with over 45 years of teaching experience at Fort Mill High School. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics and History and an M.A.T. in Secondary Education, both from Winthrop University. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of mathematics courses and served as the Math Department Chair for 36 years.
For more than 30 years, Anne has taught a dual credit education course that introduces high school students to careers in teaching—many of whom have gone on to become educators and administrators across South Carolina and beyond. Since 1999, she has served as a certified national trainer for CERRA (Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement), preparing educators across the country to teach this course. In addition, she is a trained mentor who supports and guides new teachers as they begin their careers.
A former Fort Mill High School and District Teacher of the Year, Anne was also a finalist for the 2023 Jessie Williams Little "Leading the Way" Award. In addition to her work in the classroom, she has coached cheerleading, sponsored student clubs, and is known for actively supporting her students by attending their performances, games, and events.
Anne’s mission as an educator is rooted in the belief that every student has the ability to learn. She is passionate about equipping students with the tools to understand themselves and how they learn best, fostering their growth as confident and independent critical thinkers prepared for lifelong success.
Outside of school, Anne enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, shopping, watching sports, and spending time with her daughter.
